Ryan Sharp, MBA
President, CEO & Director
Mr. Sharp is the president, chief executive officer and a director of Venerable Ventures Ltd. He has worked as a financial and strategic consultant to other public companies. He was employed as an investment advisor for a period of 7 years and brings with him more than 10 years of senior management experience. Mr. Sharp obtained his MBA from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia in 2003 and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario in 1991.
Magnus Bratlien
Director
Mr. Bratlien has been the President and Director of Huldra Silver Inc. since it’s founding on April 21, 1980. Prior to forming Huldra he worked as a prospector for companies such as Bralorne Mines, Noranda, and Silver Standard throughout British Columbia and the Yukon. He also worked as an independent Prospector for a number of year optioning properties to companies such as Cominco and Falconbridge.
Garth Braun
CFO & Director
Mr. Braun has been the chief executive officer and a director of Blackbird Energy Inc., a TSX Venture Exchange listed company, since November 2009. In 2008, he worked as an investment banker for Gateway Securities Inc. From July 2004 to October 2006, he was the president, chief executive officer and a director of Cheetah Oil & Gas Ltd. Throughout the last twenty-five years, Mr. Braun has also operated a private Canadian real estate development company.
Peter Espig
Director
Mr. Espig is experienced in the analysis of investment opportunities, raising capital, deal sourcing and financial structuring. Over the past five years, Mr. Espig has structured over US$2.0 billion in private equity and pre-IPO investment transactions from the principal side, including co-structuring Star Bulk Carriers Corp.’s (NASDAQ:SBLK) acquisition of 8 drybulk carriers from TMT. In August 2006, Mr. Espig founded TriAsia Capital, a private equity and consulting firm focused on raising capital for mid-sized companies and pre-IPO investment and consulting.
Mr. Espig served as Vice-President of the Principal Finance and Securitization Group and Asia Special Situations Group for Goldman Sachs Japan. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Mr. Espig served as Vice-President of Olympus Capital, a New York private equity firm, where he participated in corporate restructurings, investment analysis and financing negotiations for both domestic and international investments. Mr. Espig currently serves as a director of Star Bulk Carriers Corp. and Novadx Ventures Corp.
In 1989, Mr. Espig received his B.A. from the University of British Columbia and later received his MBA from Columbia Business School.
Kathleen Nosek
Corporate Secretary
Ms. Nosek has 10 years of administrative experience. Prior to joining the Company, Ms. Nosek spent three years working in the resource sector with Global Mining Management Corp., a private service company based in Vancouver.
Christopher Ross, B. Comm, CGA
Controller
Mr Ross is an accountant with 15 years of progressive experience within many industries including government, forestry, and distribution. Mr. Ross’s experience includes financial accounting, audit, and taxation. Most recently Mr. Ross worked in the controllership group for a supplier and seller of nationally recognized brand-name building materials across Canada.
Denis DiPasquale
Construction & Logistics Manager
Mr. DiPasquale is an accomplished Construction Manager / Pre-Construction Manager with 25 years’ experience encompassing all aspects of design build projects, corporate logistics and purchasing for construction, mining and civil projects.
Al Beaton
Mine Manager
Mr. Beaton has been actively involved in mining operations for over 40 years. Since becoming a member of the Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of BC in 1974, he has over 30 years of experience as mine manager for mining and development operations throughout Africa and across Canada. Mr. Beaton was the mine manager for Erikson Gold Mine from 1979-1986, is President of A.J. Beaton Mining Ltd since 1987, and is President of Vicore Mining and Development Ltd since 1993. Mr. Beaton is a graduate of St. Francis Xavier University (1967), and Nova Scotia Technical College (1970), BSc Engineering (Mining).
